
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee was slammed Thursday over a tweet from President Joe Biden praising him for lowering gas prices when in fact gas prices have gone up under his presidency.
JoeBiden, the DCCC official account posted a graph showing gas prices going down by two cents from November 22 to November 29 along with a graph that had no start date.
REP. Twitter users blasted the DCCC with many saying that the price of gas is more than $1 higher than it was last year, and from those who pointed out that the graph shows only a 2 cent decrease.
JoeBiden, Federalist co-founder Sean Davis, tweeted. Today, gas costs $1 gallon more than it did a year ago. The Washington Post wrote an article in response to the Twitter post saying it might be the worst defense of the Biden administration yet. BIDEN: You are not helping, said the article, written by Philip Bump, by Philip Bump.
Some suggested that the DCCC had taken the graph from a tweet that was meant to be a joke from liberal pundit Matthew Iglesias.
What happens to a comms people when they don't understand sarcasm, Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell tweeted with a graph posted earlier that day from Iglesias sarcastically praising Biden for fixing inflation.

A request for comment from Fox Business was not immediately responded to by the DCCC.
Sean Patrick Maloney's DCCC is one of the most incompetent organizations Washington has ever seen, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee told Fox Business. The NRCC also posted a revised graph on Twitter showing how gas prices have gone up during Biden's presidency.
In October, gas prices hit a seven-year high and a gallon of gas cost Americans an average of $4.42 in California, the most since 2012, the most since 2012.
Gas prices have started to drop slightly over the past week and GasBuddy petroleum analyst Patrick De Haan told FOX Business he thinks consumers may see prices under $3.30 per gallon by early next week.
