Delhi reports 6,028 daily COVID 19 cases

Delhi has reported 6,028 COVID 19 cases in the last 24 hours, a slight increase from yesterday's daily virus tally. The national capital had reported 5,760 daily cases on Monday, according to the health bulletin.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Delhi's caseload has reached 18,03, 499 with today's numbers. The UT's positivity rate stood at 10.55 per cent on Tuesday.

In the same period, Delhi also recorded 9,127 recoveries, which brought down the active cases in the national capital to 42,010. In the last 24 hours, 31 more deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 25,681.

On January 27th, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority DDMA will be convened by lieutenant governor Anil Baijal about the COVID situation in the national capital. According to the news agency ANI, a decision could be taken to lift restrictions like weekend curfew and the odd-even system in the markets due to the decreasing COVID cases in Delhi.

The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also be present at the DDMA meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday. The Delhi government allowed all private offices in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, outside of Containment zones, to function with up to 50 per cent attendance. The DDMA had advised private offices to stagger office timing, presence and quantum of staff.
