EDMOND TANG CHINA DAILY Hong Kong Disneyland and Cathay Pacific are actively recruiting to make the business recovery a success after the worst-ever COVID 19 Pandemic stabilizes, with the theme park ramping up recruitment and Hong Kong s flagship carrier planning to rehire hundreds of cabin crew members.

Hong Kong Disneyland, which closed several times during the Pandemic, plans to hire 600 employees in May and June to expand its workforce in anticipation of the mid-June debut of Momentous, a nighttime spectacle that will take guests on a journey of life through the lens of Disney stories and multimedia elements.

Colin Chang, Hong Kong Disneyland s director of talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, said the starting monthly salary for full-time junior positions with transportation subsidies will be about HK $14,200 $1,809 to HK $18,000 per month.

There are 300 full-time and 300 part-time positions covering front-line jobs in park operations, hotel operations, security, catering, retail, and others, according to Chang.

Cathay Pacific is preparing for the resumption of flights in response to the government's recent adjustments to travel restrictions and quarantine arrangements.

In an email to hundreds of former cabin crew members who were laid off in a large-scale downsizing two years ago, the carrier said it looks forward to allowing more passengers to travel to and from more destinations in the coming months. The airline said that the changes to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements are an important step in the right direction for the business, as it invited its former employees to join the company.
