Drivens queue at gas stations across Ukraine

LVIV, Ukraine - Drivers lined up at gas stations across Ukraine over the weekend as the government struggled to deal with a fuel shortage caused by Russian attacks on oil infrastructure.

In his nightly address, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that queues and rising prices at gas stations are seen in many parts of the country. The infrastructure for the production, supply and storage of fuel is being destroyed by the occupiers. The Ukrainians' efforts to return to their homes are most likely to be affected by the gasoline shortage. Fuel shortages have made deliveries of food and other humanitarian supplies more difficult, according to aid agencies. The humanitarian aid is brought in from outside the country and trucked long distances.

A Russian blockade of Ukrainian seaports meant that replacement stocks could not be brought in by tanker, according to Zelensky.
