First round of distribution of aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina expected to start by end of month

The Federal Directorate of Commodity ReservesDirectorate of Commodity Reserves has informed the public that it is completing the first round of distribution of packages with basic food items to socially vulnerable residents in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first round of distribution of aid packages for 17,000 beneficiaries is expected to be completed by the end of the month, according to the Directorate of Commodity Reserves. This is exactly what was announced by the decisions made in accordance with the Regulation on assistance to the population due to the increase in the consumer price index, which was adopted by the Federation of BiH Government. In the 11th month of this year, the same users will receive aid packages when we finish the second round of distribution. The package is divided into three categories based on the number of household members. The first category has up to two members, the second from three to five, and the third more than six, according to the director of the Federal Directorate of Commodity Reserves, Ton o Bavrka.

According to he, the projections on the amount of packages for all categories were made on the basis of the standard assessment of the monthly consumption of basic foodstuffs, which are in commodity reserves. Each household receives a list of items in the packages, with the seal of the directorate, along with the package. The number of members is different from household to household and that is why the package values are different, according to the director of Bavrka.

We did the initial projection which was based on the number of 10,000 users, but in the meantime we received a list of 17,000 people from the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, which according to the Government Decree is responsible for providing data. We distributed the goods from our stocks to that number of users. The division for all of them will be made in two rounds, said Bavrka.

In the neighbouring countries, the aid to the population is distributed in stages, and in order to prevent the delivery of all quantities, these goods will eventually be sold on the black market.

The work of distributing packages is carried out by the Federal Directorate, along with all Red Cross organizations in 77 municipalities and cities in the Federation, as well as the Red Cross of FBiHRed Cross of FBiH, and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and centers for social work, according to Bavrka.

According to the government decree, this assistance is provided by recipients of permanent financial assistance who exercised this right in the month of June, and then by persons, i.e. According to the records of the competent centers for social work, families in a state of social need. The office of the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced that the rights of the municipal social protection services have been exercised in the past six months.
