He can't see beyond his EU-orientated nose. There isn't a reason for the lack of hauliers. Freedom of movement is not to blame. It is poor working conditions, poor pay and no training that is to blame. He said that the problem was in the making for years and was triggered by the lockdowns ending.
Scholz said that the UK needs a good industrial policy, which is unlikely to be beyond the skillet of our current govt. Europe is often at odds with the Anglo-sphere, as I said. We are going to have to watch him carefully.
