GAIL posts 40.6 pc jump in Q4 standalone net profit

State-owned GAIL India Ltd reported a 40.6 per cent surge in its standalone net profit on Friday at Rs 2,683. There were 11 crore for the fourth quarter of 2022, as margins on natural gas sales went up. The company had a net profit of 1,907. There were 67 crore for the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations jumped 73.4 per cent year-on-year to Rs 26,968. In the quarter under review, 21 crore were against 15,549. In the same quarter last year, there was 07 crore.

The final dividend will be paid at Rs 10 per equity share, subject to the approval of shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

97 crore was lost against 4,890. The previous year, 18 crore were spent.

Pre-tax earnings from natural gas marketing increased to Rs 1,725. In the fourth quarter of 2021, 93 crore were up from Rs 280.89 crore a year ago.

The shares of GAIL traded on Friday at 3.31 per cent lower than BSE, at Rs 146 apiece.
