On Mornings with Maria, Fox News senior strategy analyst Gen. Jack Keane warned that China is determined to change the nature of nuclear weapons capabilities with the use of a hypersonic missile. While unprotected space provides America an advantage, Keane told FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo that the United States would destroy China if China decides to use nuclear weapons against China.
What makes this newsworthy is the fact that China has taken over a nuclear missile, loaded it with a rocket and orbited the Earth with it. It's also capable of home a hypersonic weapon, according to the Financial Times. And there's no confirmation of this by the United States, and our audience has to understand that. If true, then that changes the nature of nuclear proliferation in the world writ large. The United States and Soviet Union agreed during the Cold War not to nuclearize space. In other words, not having nuclear weapons into satellites or space stations. That was an agreement we entered into.
China appears to be starting a new chapter which will involve nuclear weapons and weaponisation in space. Though that would give China an advantage, it doesn't mean China will use those weapons against the United States. They will know full well that if they did, the United States would destroy China. That has always been the issue with exchange of nuclear weapons, there is no doubt. I think that this prevents us from ever using lethal weapons against each other. So, yes, this is an advanced chapter in the new technology.
