Google browser browser outage hits 4,113 worldwide

Users had problems with Google explorer, the world's dominant search engine, reported the online platform Downdetector from 2.12 am BST 9.12 pm EST, 11.12 AM AEST.

There were 4,113 confirmed reports of Google outages as of 11.38 AM.

The Gmail, Google maps and Google images were experiencing problems, according to users. Both rely on Google's search engine to operate.

At least 1,338 servers were affected across more than 40 countries including the United States, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Israel, parts of South America, Europe and Asia including China and Japan, according to the network intelligence company ThousandEyes Inc.

Users attempting to use the search engine were met with a 502 or 500 error.

The server encountered an error and could not complete your request, one error page read.

Users took to Twitter to express their confusion, switching to alternative search engines like DuckDuckGo and Bing to surf the web.

Google doesn't release exact traffic numbers, but it is the most visited website on the net, receiving more than 80 billion visits per month.

The company did not have a statement on the cause or the outage.
