According to a memo obtained by the news channel, the Reuters- Alphabet Inc.'s Google is temporarily mandating weekly COVID 19 tests for anyone entering Google offices or facilities in the United States.
The report said anyone who comes into a Google's U.S. work site will be required to report their vaccination status and wear surgical-grade masks while at the office.
The report said that weekly testing would be temporary because of the highly contagious Omicron variant surge in the country.
In January, Google said it was delaying its return-to- office plan due to growing concerns over the Omicron variant.
According to a CNBC report in December, Google told its employees they would lose pay and be fired if they don't follow its COVID-19 vaccine rules, one of the first companies to ask employees to work from home during the epidemic.
