Govt. introduces revamped ABHA mobile app

The government introduced a revamped Ayushman Bharat Health Account ABHA mobile application under its flagship scheme of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission ABDM, National Health Authority NHA on Tuesday.

The NHA said that the ABHA app, previously known as NDHM Health Records, is available for download from the Google Play Store and already has over 4 lakh downloads, which is the nodal agency for implementation of the health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat. The ABHA app has a new User Interface UI and added functionalities that allow individuals to access their health records anytime and anywhere. Existing ABHA app users can update their previous app versions to the latest one.

An individual can create an ABHA address username and password that can be linked to the 14 digit random generated ABHA number by using the ABHA mobile application. The mobile application allows users to view their health records in their mobile device and link their health records to ABDM compliant health facility. The application allows for self-uploading physical health records in the ABDM compliant health lockers along with sharing digital health records such as diagnostic reports, prescriptions, CoWIN vaccination certificate, etc. After the consent of an individual, the ABDM network is used.

In addition to this, ABHA's mobile application has new functions such as edit profile, link and unlink ABHA number 14 digit with ABHA address. The ABHA app will be instrumental in helping citizens create their longitudinal health records. The patients can access their health records in just a matter of seconds with the help of their ABHA address, which will empower them in many ways. It will allow them to save their health history on a single platform and share their health records anytime and anywhere without a worry of losing them. The digitization of data exchange will ensure better clinical decision making and continuum of care, according to Dr. R.S. Sharma, CEO, National Health Authority NHA said.
