Gunman opens fire at Australian capital Canberra airport

SYDNEY: Australian capital Canberra was evacuated on Sunday after a gunman opened fire, media reports said.

The Australian Federal Police said it was called to the airport at around 1.30 pm local time after reports of gunshots.

They said a person was taken into custody and a gun recovered after a person was taken into custody.
