If given the chance, I like to do the job: Bumrah

Paarl South Africa January 17 ANI India pacer Jasprit Bumrah said he would be honoured if he is deemed worthy of leading the country, but it is not something he is chasing.

India and South Africa will lock horns in a three-match ODI series, with the first match set to be played on Wednesday in Paarl. The Proteas had defeated India 2 -- 1 in the Test series earlier in the day.

I am ready to contribute in whatever position and way I can. If you get the chance to lead India, you will think about it. I like to do my work, but I can do the job. I am not something I like to chase. It doesn't matter if you have a post or not. That is what I look to do and that has always been my process. "If given an opportunity, there is no bigger honour than this but I try to focus on how I can contribute," said Bumrah at a virtual press conference.

I will be helping KL Rahul whenever I can, because I have to do my job. Bumrah, who will be the vice-captain of India ODI team for the series against South Africa, said I try to help the younger guys even when I am not the vice-captain.
