
Islamabad Pakistan January 7 ANI Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to visit China next month as the incumbent government is facing economic challenges and massive criticism from the opposition over mini-budget, rising trade deficit and inflation, according to local media.
Mansoor said Imran Khan ordered the removal of 37 regulations to ensure a one-window operation for foreign investors. He said the prime minister would personally be in charge of the talks on progress on CPEC projects every 15 days.
It came after Pakistan's trade deficit surged to USD 24.79 billion during the first half of the current fiscal year, due to a 63 per cent increase in imports. The trade deficit surged because of a rise in exports.
The data for the July-December period shows that imports jumped to USD 39.91 bn from USD 24.47 bn a year ago. Exports during July-December increased 25 per cent to USD 15.13 bn compared to the year-ago period, according to Dawn.
