International Community envoy visits Central Election Commission in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Christian Schmidt, the High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited for the first time since taking office at the Central Election Commission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he met with the president and members of the CEC of Bosnia and HerzegovinaCEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The members of the CEC spoke to Schmidt about the organization and implementation of the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

The President of the Central Election Commission of BiH Suad Arnautovi informed the HR about the challenges that the Central Election Commission of BiH is facing or may face during the election process in BiH.

The challenge of fully filling the election committees with members and their deputies was highlighted by the failure to submit a sufficient number of proposals by certain political subjects.

The police monitoring of sensitive election material on the night of October 1 to 2 was the second thing that Arnautovi drew attention to and asked for the support of the HR on the night of October 1 to 2.

The high representative Christian Schmidt thanked the president and members of the Central Election Commission of BiH for the information received, and said he will monitor all election activities and react in accordance with his competencies.
