Japan says it has no UFO images to announce

The Japanese government said on 27 June that it has nothing to report on unidentified flying objects after a research institute in the city of Fukushima released images it claimed were UFOs.

In response to a question about the images released by the International UFO Lab on 25 June, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihiko Isozaki stated that there were no special cases to announce regarding unidentified objects in the air.

Defense Minister Taro Kono ordered Japan's Self-Defense ForcesDefense Forces to take photos and analyze information on any UFOs or other unidentified objects spotted by their personnel in September 2020. The government hasn't received any such reports.

Isozaki said that the government will continue to watch out for UFOs, and that they intend to respond based on instructions from the defense minister.
