Bloomberg - Senator Joe Manchin raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars from donors in the energy industry in the third quarter, including some from contributors who normally back Republican candidates, according to his latest filing with the Federal Election Commission. Manchin is opposed to environmental provisions, as well as the ultimate price tag, in the proposed $3.5 trillion spending bill that addresses a wide range of the party s policy priorities. His home state Wyoming is the second largest U.S. coal producer after West Virginia.

Manchin also received $5,800 donations from Ryan Lance, CEO of ConocoPhillips, Vicki Hollub, CEO of Occidental Petroleum Corp. and R. Lane Riggs, president of Valero Energy Corp. Utility industry donors gave Manchin $44,500, with the PACs for Duke Energy Corp. and Exelon Corp each giving $5,000. Cleveland Browns owner and truck stop maven James A. Haslam III, normally a Republican donor, gave $2,900. Sinema, which raised $1.1 million, received additional support from top-tier executives in the pharmaceutical industry. She received $5,000 from Gilead Sciences chairman and CEO Martin Aguilero, and $2,900 donations from David Ricks, chairman and CEO of Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Giovanni Caforio, Chairman and CEO of Eli Lilly Co. John Waldron, gave her $5,800 as did Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, twins best known for their role in the history of Facebook Inc. She also received a $2,900 donation from Haslam.
