Kazayev orders investigation into unrest in Kazakhstan

Following weeks of protests and unrest in the country, Nur-Sultan Kazakhstan on January 15 ANI According to Sputnik, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the country's National Security Council to establish a Special Operations Force.

In a statement on Saturday, Sputnik reported that the presidential press service had instructed the Secretary of the Security Council to speed up work on the creation of special operations forces and submit specific proposals for reform of the national security system.

The law enforcement agencies have been ordered by the President to do an investigation and determine the exact number of civilian casualties caused by the unrest.

President Tokayev stressed the importance of preventing the violation of the rights of citizens during anti-terrorist operations.
