Leh Ladakh India January 15 ANI The Cyber Crime Unit of District Police Leh recovered an amount of Rs 56,991 in just a matter of days after being able to solve a case of cyber fraud.

On January 10, the police said that some unknown person has fraudulently transferred an amount of 56,991 from his SBI Account through Yono SBI app, and that he received a complaint from the Cyber Crime Unit Leh.

On January 10, a complaint from one Tashi Samstan said that some unknown person fraudulently transferred a sum of Rs 56,991 from his SBI account through the Yono SBI app.

After the complainant was having technical issues while using the app, he contacted the customer care number on Google search that turned out to be a fake contact number.

The complainant installed AnyDesk, a desktop mobile screen-sharing app that was used by the fraudulent to hack his mobile and realized the transaction of Rs 56,991, without the knowledge of the complainant, according to the police.

Once the complaint was received, the cybercrime team succeeded in retrieving the full amount within three days and handing over the hard-earned money to the victim.

The District Police Leh urged the public not to fall prey to the fraudsters who ask you to install suspicious apps, ask OTPs, and passwords.
