Lithuania PM congratulates Nord Security for becoming second unicorn

On Friday, the prime minister congratulated the company on becoming Lithuania's second unicorn a start-up with a market value of more than 1 billion US dollars, according to a meeting with the founders and CEOs of Nord Security, Eimantas Sabaliauskas and Tomas Okmanas.

It's proof that investors can feel safe in Lithuania, and in this case they voted with their money that Lithuania is a safe country. I congratulate and wish you not to lack the enthusiasm to reach new goals, and I hope that this will be an incentive for those Lithuanian start-ups that are just taking their first steps today, Simonyte said in a statement.

The Lithuanian-founded start-up Nord Security raised 100 million US dollars in investment earlier this week, pushing its market value to more than 1.6 billion US dollars.

Okmanas told BNS earlier that the company did not seek such a status, but he said that recognition is good news for business but also for Lithuania as the country may attract more foreign investors.
