Maruti Suzuki has announced today that all non-cargo variants of the EECO brand will be able to increase their prices by Rs 8,000 due to the introduction of the passenger airbag.

This is to inform you that effective from today onwards i.e. The company said on 30 November 2021 that there will be a price increase of Rs 8000 in all non-Cargo variants of the EECO, due to the introduction of Passenger Airbag.

The auto giant announced in September that it would increase the prices of its vehicles by 1.9 per cent on an average of models. The price of the vehicle was adversely impacted over the last year due to an increase in input costs.

In April, the price hike was 1.6 per cent ex-showroom across models, while there was an increase in select models of Rs 34,000 in January.

The supply constraint of electronic components due to the semiconductor shortage has adversely affected Maruti's production in November.

The company expects to have an adverse impact on vehicle production in November 21 in both Haryana and its contract manufacturing company, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited SMG in Gujarat due to a supply constraint of electronic components, according to Maruti on October 30.

The company said it expects to have a total vehicle production volume of around 85 per cent of normal production, despite the fact that the current situation is quite dynamic.

In the quarter for July-September, Maruti Suzuki had reported a decline of 65 per cent year-on-year at Rs 475.3 crore as the global shortage of electronic components and higher commodity prices hit the company hard. Maruti Suzuki said it could not produce 1,16, 000 vehicles during the quarter because of the electronics component shortage, mostly corresponding to domestic models.

The Maruti Suzuki share declined by Rs 94.50 or 1.32 per cent to 7,055 on the NSE today.
