New Delhi India January 5, ANI The results of the Congress screening committee meeting under the leadership of Ajay Maken remained inconclusive as the leaders sat on names of probable candidates for the Punjab election on Wednesday at Congress war room in Delhi for the fifth time.

After the meeting was over, Maken said most of the seats have been discussed and the final decision on tickets for the upcoming Assembly polls will be taken soon after another round of meeting. The Punjab Congress Screening Committee held its fifth round meeting on Wednesday without any results.

The list of candidates that has been discussed in the screening committee on 117 seats will be sent to the Central Election Committee CEC and after that the list of candidates will be finalized, according to Maken.

We are looking at the list of possible candidates who have the potential to win the election. He said that the ticket will only be given to a person who can win the seat.

How many existing MLAs have to get tickets, Maken said, It is difficult to say at the moment. Charanjit Singh Channi was not directly involved in the screening committee meeting, but was connected virtually. After the meeting was over, Navjot Singh Sidhu told the media that the meeting was conducted in a very enthusiastic and friendly atmosphere.

Sidhu said that people have unanimously agreed to the decisions in most of the seats. All is well in the Punjab Congress. The Punjab Assembly election is coming to an end. Among those who attended the meeting were Maken, chairman of the screening committee, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, state Congress in-charge Harish Chaudhary and Punjab manifesto committee chairman Sunil Jakhar.

Jakhar said that the protocols COVID 19 would be followed as far as election publicity is concerned in the wake of increasing cases.
