People who promise free electricity have kept UP in the dark: Yogi

In January 23, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unleashed a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over his promises of free electricity by asking how can these people promise free electricity during the tenure of which there was no electricity in the state.

Before 2017, there was no electricity. Adityanath said they need to ask those promising 300 unit of free electricity how they will distribute electricity for free when there was no electricity during their tenure.

UP CM made these comments while interacting with a gathering of intellectuals in Ghaziabad.

Yogi Adityanath wrote earlier in the day that those talking about free electricity had kept UP in the dark Those who talk of providing 'electricity' for free, keeping Uttar Pradesh in 'dark'. It was only darkness, what was left, only riots and curfew happened in his time. The Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav promised that the SP government would give 300 units of free power to all households in UP every month and free electricity to farmers for irrigation if his party is voted to power in the 2022 assembly polls.
