Several dozen Russians were not allowed to enter the country since Poland tightened restrictions on entry of Russian nationals into the country for business or pleasure purposes, a Border Guard spokeswoman told PAP.
Between Monday and Thursday when Poland introduced the restrictions and Thursday, 54 Russians were denied entry into the country, according to Lt. Anna Michalska.
Russians had been allowed into Poland only in exceptional circumstances over the past two years. As of Monday, restrictions against Russian nationals were stiffened.
The Russian Federation's entry is restricted at all EU external border crossings, as a result of an amended regulation. It also reduces the scope of exceptions in order to exclude travel for business, tourist, cultural and sports purposes.
