Political parties fined in Bosnia and Herzegovina for violating election rules

Three political parties and three political subjects were fined by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina for violating the rules of conduct in the election campaign.

At the 48th emergency session of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the political parties PDP, PDA and SNSD were fined, and their candidates Sanja Dimitri Elzina Piri and Vlado aji were also fined.

The CEC stated that Sanja Dimitri the PDP candidate for the National Assembly of the RS, a member of the Derventa Assembly and an employee at the elementary school in Derventa, misused a public resource in her capacity as an educator, school premises in order to send political messages, and was fined 3,000 BAM. PDP received a fine in the same amount.

She published a picture with a text that was taken from the school premises at her workplace.

SDS accused SNSD candidate for the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Vlado aji, of using the event of the opening of cardiac surgery at the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska to send pre-election messages. It was established that he had misused public funds and resources of the UKC RS and SRNA.

SDA also reported Elzina Piri PDA President and candidate for the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament for hate speech. She compared the election poster of Bakir Izetbegovi, on which he is photographed with raised hands, to a fascist salute from the Second World War.

Piri said that someone greets us like they used to greet Europe in 39, which is a direct allusion.

She was fined 5,000 BAM, and the PDA was fined 3,000 BAM.

Following Transparency International's report, SNSD was fined for running a paid political campaign before it began. This is the first such violation of SNSD in this pre-election campaign, and they received a minimum fine of 3,000 BAM.
