Putin to hold signing ceremony to annex four more Ukrainian territories

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold an official signing ceremony in the Kremlin Palace today to annex four more areas of Ukraine after announcing victory in self-styled referendums.

What Happened: Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, said Putin would preside over a treaty signing on the entry of new territories into the Russian Federation.

A signing ceremony will be held on Thursday at the Grand Kremlin Palace in the St George Hall, where a signing ceremony will be held on incorporating the new territories into Russia, Peskov said on Thursday.

Following the ceremony, the two houses of the Russian Parliament will ratify the annexation treaties next week.

This came after Putin said things had not gone smoothly in his first public acknowledgment on Thursday.

Many questions are coming up in the course of the mobilization, and all mistakes must be corrected and prevented from happening in the future, he said.

The annexation ceremony was denounced by Ukraine, which has dubbed it a Kremlin freak show. The Kremlin's pseudo-referendums were worthless, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Ukraine's territorial integrity will be restored. He said that our reaction to Russia's results will be very harsh.

If Moscow proceeded with annexation, it would have no legal value and merits to be condemned, said Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
