Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Punjab was called off because of a security lapse. The Prime Minister was stuck on a flyover for 15 -- 20 minutes due to the road being blocked by some protesters, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs MHA. The MHA has taken cognisance of this serious security lapse and sought a detailed report from the state government.
The BJP blamed the ruling Congress government for the major security lapse and the sabotaging PM's scheduled program.
The chief minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, denied the allegations of a security breach by the Prime Minister, saying he did not have any information about the change of route of the PM.
