Second round of negotiations for Kabul airport begins with Qatar-Turkish company

Kabul Afghanistan January 5, ANI The second round of negotiations over the running of Afghanistan's airports began on Tuesday with a Qatar-Turkish company, according to local media.

The Deputy Head of Civil Aviation, Ghulam Gilani Wafa, said the Afghan side will try to find the best choice when signing the contract.

The negotiations were virtually unaffected by the outbreak of the coronaviruses Omicron variant.

We started online negotiations today and they will continue until we reach a decision on the contract. Gilani Wafa quoted by Tolo News as saying, "We will start face-to-face negotiations if we feel it is necessary."

According to the Afghan media, the officials said they negotiated with the United Arab Emirate's company - to hand over the operations of Afghanistan's five main airports - and the Islamic Emirate will ultimately choose one of the companies.

The negotiations were held with a United Arab Emirates company as well, we talked over many issues at that time; later, Turkey and Qatar showed interest and we will continue talks with these countries, said Gilani Wafa.
