Several killed in mall attack in Denmark

Several people have been killed in a shopping mall in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen police, who arrested a 22-year-old Danish man, said they could not rule out the attack was an act of terrorism. Officers had been sent to Field's mall in the city after reports of a shooting, with them telling people inside the centre to stay put and wait for assistance.

A spokesman said that the capital's main hospital, Rigshospitalet, had received a small group of patients for treatment.

The spokesman said that it had added more staff, including surgeons and nurses.

Local media released images showing heavily armed police officers at the scene of the attack, as well as people running out of the mall.

Footage released by the tabloid Ekstra Bladet shows a person being carried by rescue workers into an ambulance on a stretcher.

There will be more to come.
