The chairman of the Shapoorji Pallonji conglomerate Pallonji Mistry died in his residence in Mumbai on Tuesday morning at the age of 93. He passed away in his sleep, according to company officials. He is survived by two sons and two daughters - Shapoor Mistry, Cyrus Mistry, Laila Mistry and Aloo Mistry. The news became viral, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tributes to the corporate titan.

Pallonji's father had also produced the K Asif-Directorial Mughal-e Azam, which was released in the year 1960 on a budget of Rs 1.5 crore, making it the most expensive Bollywood film at the time. In 2016, Pallonji was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to trade and industry.

According to Forbes, Pallonji Mistry has a net worth of $13 billion and is currently ranked 125th on the Forbes Billionaires List and 9th in Forbes India's Richest List.
