The SYDNEY, NSW, Australia stock markets in Asia continued to slide on Friday.

The Australian All Ordinaries fell by 57.40 points or 0.82 percent to 6,976. 10.

In New Zealand, the S&P NZX 50 dropped 23.41 points or 0.19 percent to 11,103. 79.

The Kospi Composite lost 2.91 points or 0.13 percent to 2,234 in Seoul, South Korea. 95.

The Shanghai Composite was close to Golden Week. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong was down 200 points in late trading.

The U.S. dollar was strengthened Friday during the Asian trading zone. The euro dropped to 0.9780 at the Sydney close. The British pound dropped to 1.1139. The Japanese yen was weakened to 144.98. The Swiss franc was softened to 0.9902

The Canadian dollar was lower at 1.3751. The Australian dollar fell to 0.6397. The New Zealand dollar was little changed at 0.5640.

The Dow Jones industrials fell 346.93 points or 1.15 percent to 29,926 over the night on Wall Street. 94.

The Nasdaq Composite fell by 75.33 points or 0.68 percent to 11,073. 31.

The Standard and Poor's 500 dropped 38.76 points or 1.02 percent to 3,744. 52.
