Two people fall ill after liquid reportedly sprayed at train station

Two people fell ill after a liquid was apparently sprayed inside a train station in Chiba Prefecture, officials said.

An emergency call was made from inside the train at around 6: 15 a.m. on June 24: There is a strange smell and it looks like some kind of liquid has been sprayed. According to fire department officials, one of the people, described as a female between 10 and 19 years old, complained of pain in her lower abdomen. The Tobu Railway Co. stopped the train at the nearby Nodashi Station and asked all passengers to get off. Chiba Prefectural Police said they don't believe the liquid is poisonous. They are continuing to investigate the case.

According to Tobu Railway, the incident occurred on a regular train traveling between Kashiwa and Omiya stations. The operation of the Noda Line, also known as the Tobu Urban Park Line, was suspended in some sections due to the incident.
