Vietnam reports 2,545 new COVID19 cases, no deaths

All of the new cases were locally transmitted, said the ministry.

The total tally was 11,470, 164, according to the newly reported infections. The country reported no new deaths from the pandemic on Friday, with the total deaths at 43,146.

According to the ministry, there were 154 severe cases of need of assisted breathing in the Southeast Asian country as of Friday.

The ministry said that about 259.8 million doses of COVID 19 vaccine have been administered in the country, including nearly 220.4 million shots on people aged 18 and above.

As of Friday, Malaysia reported 2,070 new COVID 19 infections, which brings the national total to 4,828, 290, according to the health ministry.

There are 2,067 new imported cases, with 2,067 cases being local transmissions, according to data released by the ministry's website.

There were three deaths, bringing the death toll to 36,345.

The ministry reported 2,009 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,766, 228.

There are 25,717 active cases, with 54 in intensive care and 33 in need of assisted breathing.

According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Health, 238 cases were detected through PCR polymerase chain reaction tests and 2,105 through ART antigen rapid test tests.

Among the PCR cases, 217 were local transmissions and 21 were imported cases. There were 1,957 local transmissions and 148 imported cases among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk.

There are currently 194 cases in hospitals, with seven cases in intensive care units.

The total death toll was unchanged at 1,609, according to the ministry. No deaths were reported from COVID- 19 on Friday.
