World number one badminton team to play for $1.5 million in World Tour Finals

The top eight players and pairs in each category will compete for US $1.5 million, the largest prize pool in badminton history, on the red courts of Tianhe Stadium.

BWF Secretary General Thomas Lund said that Guangzhou had staged two spectacular editions of the BWF World Tour FinalsBWF World Tour Finals in 2018 and 2019 and that we look forward to putting on another grand show for our loyal fans in China.

He said that we are confident that our hosts will deliver a spectacular finals event with the highest standards of player safety and comfort, and that the government of China has extended its invitation to the world's top badminton players.

The BWF said that the list of athletes for the finals will be confirmed after the 2022 Australian Open.
