Ahead of Elon Musk's upcoming visit to India, a Tesla advisor participated in a stakeholders' meeting centered around India's latest Electric Vehicles policy. The meeting, as reported by PTI, saw the involvement of representatives from renowned car manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Kia, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, Renault, as well as luxury car makers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi.
During the meeting, which was aimed at gathering feedback for the new policy, officials from the Heavy Industries Ministry presented the details of the updated EV policy. The participants, including major industry players and stakeholders, were mainly focused on comprehending the nuances of the policy rather than making immediate commitments towards future investments.
Elon Musk's much-anticipated visit to India, expected to kick off in the week starting April 22, has stirred up significant interest within the automotive and space sectors. It is reported that Musk is slated to meet with PM Narendra Modi during his stay in India. Not only that, the Indian government has extended invitations to notable startups within the space industry to meet Elon Musk on April 22, names like Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Bellatrix Aerospace, and Dhruva Space have been included in the list.
