## Congress Announces New Candidates for Uttar Pradesh Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

The Congress party has announced a new list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. The party has nominated Mukesh Dhangar from the Mathura Lok Sabha seat, where he will face off against sitting BJP MP Hema Malini. In the Sitapur Lok Sabha constituency, Rakesh Rathore has replaced Nakul Dubey as the party's candidate.

Dolly Sharma from Ghaziabad, Shivram Valmiki from Bulandshahr, Nakul Dubey from Sitapur, and Virendra Chaudhary from Maharajganj.

Earlier this week, Congress announced that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be among the star campaigners for the party in Uttar Pradesh during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Several prominent Congress leaders from Uttar Pradesh are included in the party's campaign team, including national general secretary in charge of UP Avinash Pandey, UP Congress president Ajay Rai, Rajya Sabha member Pramod Tiwari, Congress UP Legislative Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona, and former Union ministers Salman Khurshid and Rajiv Shukla. Former UP Congress presidents Brijlal Khabri, Ajay Kumar Lallu, Raj Babbar, and Nirmal Khatri are also on the list.

Congress has also enlisted the support of leaders from other states for its campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar, Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy, and former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar are among the star campaigners for the party in the state.

Uttar Pradesh sends 80 members to the Lok Sabha, making it a crucial state for any party hoping to form a government at the center. The Congress party is hoping to make significant gains in the state in the upcoming elections.

## Congress Releases 11th List of Lok Sabha Candidates

In addition to the candidates announced for Uttar Pradesh, Congress also released its 11th list of Lok Sabha candidates. This list includes several prominent names, such as Andhra Pradesh Congress chief Y.S. Sharmila Reddy, who will contest from the Kadapa seat, and former Union Ministers M.M. Pallam Raju and J.D. Seelam.
