In the first phase of the Lok Sabha election in western Uttar Pradesh, a significant voter turnout of 60.25 percent was recorded across the eight parliamentary constituencies. A total of 80 candidates, comprising 73 men and seven women, participated in this phase of the election, with constituencies like Muzaffarnagar, Nagina, Saharanpur, Kairana, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Bijnor, and Rampur going to the polls.

The Election Commission of India provided specific data on the voter turnout in various constituencies, with Saharanpur recording 65.95 percent, Rampur 54.77 percent, Muzaffarnagar 59.29 percent, and Pilibhit 61.91 percent. Additionally, Bijnor saw a turnout of 58.21 percent, Kairana 61.17 percent, Moradabad 60.60 percent, and Nagina 59.54 percent during this phase of the election.

The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 concluded across multiple parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and Union Territories, including those in Uttar Pradesh. This election sees Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking re-election for a third term, while the opposition bloc - INDIA - is aiming to challenge the ruling BJP. The Election Commission of India has set up a total of 1.87 lakh polling stations and deployed 18 lakh personnel for the 102 constituencies where voting is taking place.

India's Lok Sabha polls will unfold in seven phases, with the results scheduled to be announced on June 4. Subsequent phases will be conducted on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1, following the seven-phase pattern similar to the 2019 general elections.
