Officials recognize the importance of industry connect in boosting employability. They plan to gather input from companies on the qualifications and skills they seek in job applicants. This feedback will be incorporated into the portal, allowing candidates to identify relevant skilling courses and improve their knowledge base.

The NCS portal has witnessed a remarkable increase in vacancy registrations. In FY24, it registered 10.9 million vacancies, a 214% jump from the 3.48 million vacancies in FY23. Launched in 2015, the NCS portal offers a comprehensive range of employment-related services. Besides active job postings, it provides career counseling, skilling courses, vocational guidance, and information on job fairs. The portal is integrated with facilities of states and Union Territories, ensuring all-India coverage. It also collaborates with private job portals to offer users additional job opportunities.
