Kremlin Sees No Conditions for Talks with Ukraine as Military Operation and Strikes Continue

No Conditions for Talks Between Russia and Ukraine, Says Kremlin

The Kremlin has stated that there are currently no conditions for talks between Russia and Ukraine. This comes as Russia's military operation in Ukraine continues, with recent strikes targeting the Burshtyn thermal power plant in western Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov cited Ukraine's rejection of negotiations as the reason for the lack of progress. He also emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin's stance on the matter is well-known, reiterating his call for a peaceful resolution during a conversation with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Peskov further clarified that the draft of the Istanbul agreement, which Lukashenko suggested as a potential starting point for negotiations, is not currently being considered by Russia.

Meanwhile, the pro-Russian underground resistance reported that the Burshtyn thermal power plant was hit in an overnight strike by Russia. Additionally, five missiles struck Dnepropetrovsk, and a strong blow with subsequent detonation was reported in Krivoi Rog. The majority of the missiles targeted the town of Stryi in the Lvov region.

This news follows Russia's strike on the Tripolskaya thermal power plant on April 11th, which was conducted in retaliation to Ukraine's attempts to damage Russia's oil and gas industry sites.
