Freebies Face Reality Check as Naidu and Reddy Clash Over Economic Viability

TDP Promises Freebies, YSRCP Raises Concerns

Rs 1500 per month to every woman through the "Aadabidda Nidhi" scheme.

Three free gas cylinders every year under the "Deepam Scheme".

Free bus travel for women in state-run RTC buses.

Rs 15,000 annually to every school-going student through the "Thalliki Vandhanam" scheme.

Creation of 20 lakh jobs for the youth.

Monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 if TDP comes to power.

Naidu emphasized his commitment to women's security and future, stating that these initiatives are not just for the state's progress but also for the well-being of women.

However, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized these promises, claiming that they are unrealistic and beyond the state's financial capacity. He accused Naidu of attempting to "hoodwink" voters with these "Super Six" and "Super Ten" guarantees, which would cost the exchequer a significant amount.

With Assembly and Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 13th, the TDP, in alliance with the Jana Sena Party and the BJP, will face a tough challenge from the ruling YSRCP. The outcome of these elections will determine the future direction of Andhra Pradesh and the implementation of these proposed schemes.
