Union Minister of State and MP from Udhampur, Jitendra Singh, commended the Indian Army for promptly dispatching troops to the affected area following a shooting incident in Udhampur where a Village Defence Guard member lost his life. Singh emphasized that it is crucial for the public to stay composed and cautious, refraining from being swayed by unsubstantiated information circulating in the aftermath of the tragic event.

In light of the unfortunate incident, Singh expressed gratitude towards the authorities for heeding the appeal made by local representatives and PRIs from the Basantgarh area of Udhampur to call in Army deployment. The deceased Village Defence Guard member, identified as Mohammad Shareef, succumbed to injuries sustained during a firefight between terrorists and security forces in Chochru Gala heights, Udhampur.
