Prime Minister Modi Accuses Congress of Insulting India's Rajas and Maharajas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing them of insulting India's Rajas and Maharajas while remaining silent on the atrocities committed by Nawabs, Nizams, Sultans, and Badshahs. He alleged that the Congress's appeasement politics were driving their actions.

Addressing a public meeting in Karnataka, Modi said that the Congress had distorted the history of India's freedom struggle to appease certain groups. He criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, for his recent remarks accusing India's Rajas and Maharajas of being oppressive.

Modi countered Gandhi's claims by highlighting the contributions of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family and other Rajas and Maharajas to India's development. He accused Gandhi of selectively targeting Rajas and Maharajas while ignoring the historical atrocities committed by other rulers.

The Prime Minister also criticized the Congress for its alliances with parties that praise Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who destroyed Hindu temples. He contrasted this with the contributions of Rajas and Maharajas like the Maharaja of Baroda, who identified the talent of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Modi concluded by accusing the Congress of prioritizing vote bank politics over the safety and well-being of the people. He cited the recent murder of a student in Hubballi and the bomb blast in a Bengaluru cafe as examples of the Congress government's failures. He also criticized the Congress for its support of the banned organization PFI, which he claimed was anti-national and supported terrorism.
