Aam Aadmi Party Holds Walkathon in Support of Arvind Kejriwal

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recently conducted a walkathon named 'Walk for Kejriwal' in Delhi's CR Park to show support for their leader Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently incarcerated due to the Delhi Excise Policy case. During the campaign, AAP supporters were visibly present, carrying flags adorned with Kejriwal's image and the slogan 'Jail ka jawab vote se,' indicating their strong backing for their leader despite his legal predicament.

Atishi, a Delhi minister and AAP leader, highlighted the strong show of support from the people of Delhi for Arvind Kejriwal during the walkathon. Despite Kejriwal's arrest, the AAP members and Delhi citizens were actively campaigning for him, displaying a united front against what they perceived as a political move to disrupt their election activities. Saurabh Bharadwaj, another prominent AAP leader, took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that the PM's recent behavior displayed signs of nervousness in light of the opposition's traction and the 'Jail ka jawab vote se' campaign gaining momentum in Delhi.

The walkathon also featured a unique display of a symbolic 'washing machine,' used metaphorically by Bharadwaj to emphasize the party's stance against corruption. The installation of the washing machine was a pointed jab at other politicians, suggesting that if placed inside, corrupt individuals would emerge 'clean,' highlighting AAP's commitment to anti-corruption measures. Arvind Kejriwal's incarceration at Tihar Jail since the beginning of April stemmed from his arrest in the Delhi excise policy case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on charges related to the proceeds of crime. The matter went to the Supreme Court, with the ED asserting that Kejriwal did not cooperate with their investigations despite several summons sent to him, presenting evidence linking Kejriwal to activities related to the proceeds of crime.
