Congress Alleges PM Modi of Fear Mongering and Neglecting Karnataka's Needs

The Congress party has raised concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alleged fear mongering tactics and expressed disappointment over his response to the election results in the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls. Jairam Ramesh, a general secretary of the Congress, has questioned the Prime Minister’s actions and decisions, claiming that instead of addressing critical issues, Modi is engaging in misleading statements and fear-based tactics.

Ramesh highlighted various grievances regarding the performance of BJP MPs in Karnataka, pointing out their poor attendance in Parliament and lack of action on Karnataka-specific issues such as MGNREGA funds, drought relief, and flood assistance. The Congress leader criticized the BJP MPs for allegedly neglecting their duties in representing their constituencies and failing to address the pressing concerns faced by the people of Karnataka.

Moreover, Ramesh criticized the Modi government for delays in releasing significant amounts of drought relief funds requested by the Karnataka state government, despite the state facing severe drought conditions affecting a large number of talukas. The Congress representative accused the central government of disregarding the rules of the Disaster Management Act and failing to provide timely relief to the drought-hit regions of Karnataka, leading to further distress among the affected population.
