PGHH Reports 7% Drop in Profit After Tax Despite Revenue Growth

Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Healthcare Ltd. (PGHH) reported a 7% year-on-year drop in its profit after tax for the quarter ended March 31st. The company's net profit declined to Rs 154.4 crore from Rs 163 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Despite the decline in profit, PGHH's operating revenue grew by 13.4% year-on-year to Rs 1002.2 crore. The company's advertisement and promotional expenses rose by 26% to Rs 134 crore, impacting its bottom line.

LV Vaidyanathan, Managing Director of PGHH, stated that the company delivered strong top-line growth despite a challenging operating environment. He attributed this growth to superior products that meet the evolving needs of consumers.
