India and Nepal Strengthen Ties with Public Sector Audit MoU

India has welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nepal in the field of public sector audit, further deepening the multifaceted relationship between the two nations.

Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Girish C Murmu met with Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Barshaman Pun, and Auditor General of Nepal Toyama Raya during his visit to Kathmandu.

The MoU, signed by Murmu and Raya, will promote capacity building efforts and focus on improving methodologies in public sector audit. This collaboration signifies a significant step in strengthening the partnership between the Supreme Audit Institutions of India and Nepal.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating that it adds another dimension to the already strong relationship between the two countries.

This MoU is expected to enhance cooperation and knowledge sharing in the field of public sector audit, ultimately leading to improved governance and accountability in both nations.
