Sunita Kejriwal Slams BJP, Calls Kejriwal's Imprisonment 'Dictatorship'

Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for imprisoning her husband for 40 days. She questioned the prolonged detention and accused the BJP of dictatorship.

Sunita Kejriwal addressed voters in Botad, Gujarat, campaigning for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Umesh Makwana. She highlighted her husband's dedication to social service and questioned the BJP's motives for his arrest.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with a money laundering probe related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy. The ED claims Kejriwal did not cooperate with the investigation despite multiple summons.

The Delhi High Court dismissed Kejriwal's plea for release, citing his non-cooperation with the ED. The court stated that Kejriwal's absence from nine ED summons undermined his claims of special privilege as Chief Minister.

Voting for 25 out of 26 seats in Gujarat will take place on May 7. The results will be announced on June 4.
