A Glimpse into the Future
The Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo exhibition, known as SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, is currently underway at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo. This exciting event showcases cutting-edge technologies that could become commonplace by 2050.
Visitors can experience the future firsthand through interactive exhibits like child-operated walking robots and simulated "flying car" rides powered by virtual reality. The exhibition runs until May 26th, with additional displays opening in May at three other bayside locations, including the Ariake Arena.
SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 is not just about showcasing technology; it also aims to find solutions to pressing issues like urban traffic congestion and global warming. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, a sponsor of the event, hopes to encourage collaboration and investment in companies working on solutions in areas ranging from social infrastructure to environmental protection.
Startups from Japan and abroad are invited to submit their business ideas and participate in negotiations with potential clients. The event aims to attract 500,000 visitors and showcase approximately 120 innovative technologies.
One visitor, Sora Kido, a high school student from Machida, expressed excitement about the potential of flying cars to alleviate traffic congestion and improve travel efficiency. With most exhibits free of charge, SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 offers a unique opportunity to explore the future of technology and its potential to address global challenges.
