Sony and Apollo Express Interest in Buying Paramount Global
Sony Pictures and private equity firm Apollo Global Management have expressed interest in buying Paramount Global for $26 billion, according to a source familiar with the details.
Sony would be the majority shareholder and Apollo would have a minority stake, according to the source, who requested anonymity because the offer has not been made public.
This news comes after The Wall Street Journal reported that Apollo had previously made an offer to buy Paramount on its own, but Paramount's board had concerns about the bid, including whether Apollo could secure financing for the deal.
