Woman Loses Life Battling Blaze, Authorities Crack Down on Culprits

Forest Fire in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand

A devastating forest fire swept through the Pauri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, claiming the life of a 65-year-old woman. The woman tragically died while attempting to extinguish the flames.

Officials from the Pauri Police confirmed that the fire has been brought under control. The Air Force played a crucial role in extinguishing the blaze, deploying helicopters to spray water on the affected areas, particularly in the Doob Srikot forests.

Despite the fire being contained, six small active fire spots remain. Authorities have registered two FIRs against 35 unidentified individuals in connection with the fire incidents, and 8-9 people have been arrested. The police have vowed to take strict action against anyone found responsible for damaging forest resources.

The District Magistrate of Pauri, Dr. Ashish Chauhan, expressed his condolences for the woman's death and urged the public to inform the Forest Department immediately in case of any fire incidents in the forests or fields.
